Statue of Liberty states is a universal symbol of freedom for the United States of America. It represents the friendship between the people of France and the U.S. and a sign of their mutual desire for liberty, over the years the Statue has become much more. In a Historical point, the monument has its importance because it was given to the United States by France to Celebrate America’s first 100 years as a nation. It commemorates the alliance between France and the U.S. during the Revolutionary War.This half dollar was issued by the United States of America in the year 1989. This coin was first struck on 18th October, 1985with production continuing through 1986. The obverse of this coin depicts the view of Liberty and back view of an immigrant ship steaming into New York harbor. The reverse of this coin depicts the design of an immigrant family with their belongings on the threshold of America.
