Louis the Stammerer is crowned as king

Louis II, also known as Louis the Stammerer was king of Aquitaine and later the King of Francia Occidentalis (the West Frankish kingdom) from 877 until his death. Today on 7th September in the year 878, Louis the Stammerer crowned as king of West Francia by Pope John VIII.He was the eldest son of Emperor Charles the Bald and Ermentrude of Orleans. Louis the Stammerer was physically weak. He succeeded his younger brother Charles the Child as the ruler of Aquitaine in 866 and his father in West Francia in 877, but he was never crowned Holy Roman Emperor.
