The longest reigning Queen turns 90!

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday today!

Queen Elizabeth II Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926 is and has been since her accession in 1952, Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and Head of the Commonwealth.

At 90 years old, she becomes the oldest reigning monarch of the world. Another significant milestone as in 2015, she surpassed the reign of her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, to become the longest-reigning British head of state and the longest-reigning queen regnant in world history.

She is also the most featured individual on currency. Queen Elizabeth II's portrait is depicted on the currencies of 33 different countries.

New £5 commemorative coins for the Queen's 90th birthday were released by the Royal Mint. There will be a variety of coins issued with different finishes and metals, from uncirculated coins to gold, silver and platinum versions.

Perth Mint, Australia also issued a 1 dollar stamp and commemorative 1 dollar coin of celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday.

Royal Mail has issued a set of six stamps commemorating this historic occasion. These stamps depict the Queen at various stages of her life.
