Centennial Olympics Swimming Half Dollar

The United States of America had issued this commemorative half-dollar coin with the theme of swimming. This Half-dollar was released to support the 1996 Atlanta Centennial Olympics Games and program of the United States Olympics Committee, the U.S. Olympic Swimming Half Dollar features a male swimmer.The surcharges from the sale of these coins will be used to help the variety of organizations and projects that benefits the public. The commemorative coins were issued from the United States Mint for a limited time, as specified by public law.
The obverse of this coin depicts a male athlete competing in a swimming event. The reverse of this coin depicts Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games; the mark of key symbols the Olympic Flame, the Olympic Torch, the Olympic Rings, a Greek column, and a "100" to mark the centennial of the modern Olympic Games.
