Tanzania's Stamp Featuring Atomic Bombing over Hiroshima

Today on 6th August 1945, the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, killing tens of thousands of the city's inhabitants. This day is remembered as Hiroshima Day every year in history.This event was remembered by the world and was paid homage to with the issuing of many stamps. Similarly, on 14th August 1995 in the commemoration of 50th Anniversary of World Peace Tanzania issued a 250 TSh - Tanzanian shilingi was issued.
This stamp depicts a plane “Enola Gay” (the aircraft that dropped the bomb) in the center. A mushroom-shaped cloud denoting the explosion of the atomic bomb at the background. The stamp is inscribed with the name of the country at the top left corner and the denomination at top right corner. Word “Hiroshima” is seen at bottom right corner.
Many countries in the world, over the period of time, issued a number of stamps in support of Japan as well as in the remembrance of this event as a precaution that such tragic event will not be repeated.
