Phase One Of WWI Coin Design Competition To End Soon

The final date for submitting entries for the public competition to design the commemorative 2018 World War I American Veterans Centennial Silver Dollar is just around the corner!Phase One of the design competition would end on 28th April. 20 entries from Phase One have been selected for Phase Two. Selected participants will receive $1,000 to create a design and plaster for the silver dollar. Money earned through the sale of these coins will be used for the construction of the National WWI Memorial in D.C.
The competition will be judged 3 members from the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee, 3 members from the Commission of Fine Art and chaired by the Secretary of the Treasury.
The winner who will be announced in January 2017, will receive $10,000 and their initials will appear on the coin.
