The purpose of World Turtle Day, May 23, sponsored yearly since 2000 by American Tortoise Rescue, is to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of and respect for, turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive.Right from the mythology to the zoology turtle has been a very important part of the ecology belief systems, economy. Decreasing number of the turtles due to increasing hunt for their shells and smuggling is worrisome. Hence, to create awareness this day is being observed.
World Turtle Day is celebrated around the globe in a variety of ways, from dressing up as turtles or wearing green summer dresses, to saving turtles caught on highways, to research activities. Turtle Day lesson plans and craft projects encourage teaching about turtles in classrooms.

The reverse of the coin features the beautiful top view of a Turtle, with the brownish Tantalum core representing the animal's shell. All around the reverse, the inscriptions: "IGILIK MONTETA", "MONETA BLAGOPOLUCHIA" and "THE WELL - BEING COIN" - the name of the coin.
The obverse of the coin features the beautiful Tantalum core and the inscriptions: "100 ?????" - the face value, "REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN" - the issuing country, "2017" - the year of issue and "Ag 925 19.3g Ta 20.0g" - the fineness and the weight of the Silver, the weight of the Tantalum.
