Continuing its tradition of minting some of the most beautifully crafted coins of the world, Perth Mint adds another feather to its cap. In collaboration with Provident Metals, they released a whopping 10 kg. 999 Boolean silver coin to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Monkey.With a face value of $300, this is will go down as one of the most unique coins of the world issued in 2015. Released after February 8, 2015 when the Chinese New Year began, the coin has a 150 piece mintage with each being engraved with an individual serial number.
The obverse bears a striking portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right. The reverse depicts two monkeys – an adult and a baby. The adult monkey watches the baby with adoration. ‘Year Of The Monkey’ is inscribed under the image. The Chinese character for ‘Monkey’ is inscribed above the image.
