The first joint issue of Aland and Swiss post was released in Sep 2015. The two stamps issued by both posts present glittering silver jewellery embellishing the traditional folk dresses of the two countries.The Åland shawl buckle is a traditional piece of jewellery used for fastening the shawl. It is used with all Åland female folk dresses.
The Swiss motif is a traditional Bernese Sunday costume brooch. It is made from twisted silver thread and worn with the folk costume.
The joint issue features photographs the pieces of this folk jewellery, where as the miniature sheet shows the image of Aland Shawl buckle.
