People with banana on Guinean banknote

The syli currency was of Guinea between 1971 and 1985. It is further sub-divided into cauris. The syli means elephant and cauri mean shell. The syli replaced the Guinean franc at a rate of 1 syli equal to 10 francs.The note features Patrice Lumumba on its front side. And on its back, there are people with banana. Patrice Lumumba was a Congolese politician who served as the first Prime Minister of the independent Congo.
Guinea is a west-coastal country in West Africa. It has a rich musical tradition. The most consumed cuisine in the region is rice and cassava.
Coins denomination such as 50 cauris, 1, 2 and 5 sylis were made from aluminium. Banknotes series of 1971 were issued in denominations of 10, 25, 50 and 100 sylis. The second series of banknotes were 1, 2, 5 and 500 sylis notes issued in 1980 with a different colour.
