Pahang is a state situated on the east coast of Malaysia. It was subject to the Suvyaya kingdom in Sumatra in the 1200’s and later shuttled from native kingdom to native kingdom after 1450. It became one of the Federated Malay States in 1895. The Pahang coins were minted by prominent Chinese Pahang by permission of Sultan Ahmed. They were intended for general circulation within Pahang. Many other pieces issued by merchants and gambling houses exist, but might not be listed here.
