2016-07-09 Sat

On 8th July, Rosa Gumataotao "Rosie” served the last day as the 43rd treasurer of the United States. She was one of U.S. Treasury's top officials from the past seven years since 6th August 2009. She has also been one of the most popular personalities in the field of paper money collecting.

The treasurer monitors activities of the U.S. Mint and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. He/she is also closely associated with the Federal Reserve.

Modifications of Paper money would be required, like a suffix letter is often added to the series issue as per the denomination. A change in the series year designation might also be required.

Rios attended many major coin shows across the United States and offered autographs below her facsimile signature on Federal Reserve notes.

Rios was the managing director of investments for MacFarlane Partners before she became the U.S Treasurer. Before that she was a principal with Red River Associates. Then, she became a member of Obama’s Treasury/Federal Reserve Transition Team.
