The Sayyids and Lodis were the last of the Delhi Sultans. The Sayyids rose to power when Khizr Khan took over the throne of Delhi from Daulat Khan Lodi and established the Sayyid Dynasty. Khizr Khan was Timur's deputy and was stationed in Multan in an administrative capacity. Throughout his reign, Khizr Khan never assumed a royal title nor did he issue coins in his name.
